## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED THAT UPON LANDING ON HIS PRIVATE GRASS STRIP HE HAD TOUCHED DOWN TOO FAST. HE APPLIED THE BRAKES HARD BUT CONTINUED TO SLIDE TO THE END OF THE STRIP. AT THAT POINT THE PILOT DECIDED TO AIM FOR A DITCH TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY INSTEAD OF SLIDING OFF THE END INTO A MARSH AREA. THE PLANE STRUCK MULTIPLE SMALL TREES CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WING CREATING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE RIGHT WING, MAIN LANDING GEAR, NOSE GEAR, AND PROP WERE ALSO DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA423](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA423), Aug 4, 2016: Beech F33 (N90HF), Bivalve, MD, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's excessive airspeed during landing, which resulted in a runway overrun, and impact with a ditch.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
