## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACCORDING TO THE PRELIMINARY REPORT, AFTER LANDING AND SLOWING DOWN THE A/C PULLED TO THE LEFT, RIGHT RUDDER WAS APPLIED AND A GROUND LOOP OCCURRED. PIC ALSO STATED THAT HE THOUGHT THE TAIL WHEEL WAS CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT. INSPECTION OF THE A/C BY THE FAA DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT IN THE SUSPENSION. PART WAS REMOVED AND SENT THE NTSB LAB FOR ANALYSIS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC16LA059](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC16LA059), Aug 13, 2016: Wight Carbon CUB CCK-1865 (N625EX), Wasilla, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the tailwheel suspension assembly during landing due to preexisting fatigue fractures in the suspension system, which resulted in a loss of directional control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
