## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED THAT HE HAD DEPARTED FROM MASSENA, NY WHERE HE HAD FUELED THE AIRCRAFT, THEN TOOK OFF APPROXIMATELY 0900, ENROUTE TO FINAL DESTINATION OF WHITEFIELD, NH. THE PILOT ALSO STATED THAT WEATHER IN WHITEFIELD WAS NOT SUITABLE FOR LANDING AND THAT HE ENTERED A HOLDING PATTERN UNTIL FUEL DEPLETION. WHEN HE REALIZED THE AIRCRAFT HAD RUN OUT OF FUEL HE SELECTED A CORN FIELD AS AN EMERGENCY LANDING SITE. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED CORN STALKS AT AN APPROXIMATE HEADING OF 270, THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST INVERTED WITH SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE LOWER NOSE AREA THAT RESULTED IN COMPRESSION DAMAGE TO THE LOWER FIREWALL. POST ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION CONFIRMED THE ABSENCE OF USABLE FUEL

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA432](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA432), Aug 15, 2016: Cessna 150 (N7157X), North Conway, NH, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper fuel management, which resulted in fuel exhaustion, a total loss of engine power, a forced landing, and nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
