## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR WAS PROVIDING SOFT FIELD TAKEOFF TRAINING TO A STUDENT PILOT ON TURF RUNWAY. ON THE TAKEOFF ROLL THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO BOUNCE AND BECAME AIRBORN. THE AIRCRAFT APPEARS TO HAVE BANKED TO THE RIGHT, STRUCK THE RIGHT WING TIP ON THE GROUND. THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT THEN STRUCK THE GROUND CAUSING NOSE GEAR AND PROPELLER DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA437](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA437), Aug 17, 2016: Cessna 152 (N631TK), Belle Plaine, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's improper pitch technique after rotation during a short field take off, which resulted in the right wing impacting the ground and a nose gear collapse.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
