## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AS THE AIRCRAFT APPROACHED THE ORMAND BEACH AIPORT THE PILOT SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN HE SAW THE PROPELLER FLY OFF. ONCE THAT HAPPENED HE IMMEDIATELY FOUND A PLACE TO LAND. NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT UPON LANDING AND NO INJURIES. THE PROPELLER WAS NEVER FOUND. AN INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT REVEALED NO DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CRANKSHAFT OR PROPELLER MOUNTING AREA. THE AIRCRAFT IS 'HAND PROPPED' AND THE PILOT SAID HE FELT NOTHING UNUSUAL DURING HIS PREFLIGHT AND DURING THE STARTING OF THE AIRCRAFT. ALL INDICATIONS IN FLIGHT WERE NORMAL WITH NO VIBRATIONS AT ALL. WITHOUT THE PROPELLER AND MOUNTING SPINDLE IT WOULD ONLY BE SPECULATIVE TO SAY WHAT POSSIBLY BROKE OR WHAT MAY HAVE BEEN MOUNTED INCORRECTLY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
