## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT MADE A LANDING APPROACH WITH A HEADING OF 35 DEGREES TO IT'S INTENDED LANDING ZONE. TWO PRACTICE LANDING ATTEMPTS WERE PERFORMED ONTO A NEARBY MOVABLE DOLLY WITH AN APROACH HEADING OF 360 DEGREES. ON THE SECOND ATTEMPT THE AIRCRAFT LANDED SHORT ON THE DOLLY. WHEN COLLECTIVE WAS REDUCED, THE AIRCRAFT TEETERED BACKWARDS ONTO TAILBOOM STINGER. THE COLLECTIVE WAS QUICKLY APPLIED AND AIRCRAFT BECAME AIRBORNE AND YAWED RIGHT. COLLECTIVE WAS REDUCED AND THE AIRCRAFT MADE A HARD LANDING WITH A HEADING OF 245 DEGREES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA439](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA439), Aug 18, 2016: Bell 206 L4 (N7898X), Broussard, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to attain a proper touchdown point, which resulted in the helicopter sliding off the aft end of the transport dolly.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
