## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 30, 2016, AT DALLAS-FORT WORTH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (DFW), ENVOY MAINTENANCE ENY818, E145, ENTERED THE RUNWAY SAFETY AREA ON RUNWAY 36L WITHOUT A CLEARANCE. ENY818 CALLED GROUND CONTROL (GC) FROM THE WEST RAMP AND REQUESTED TO REPOSITION THE AIRCRAFT TO GATE B30. GC CLEARED THE AIRCRAFT TO TAXI VIA TAXIWAY CHARLIE, TAXIWAY YANKEE, AND HOLD SHORT OF RUNWAY 36L. THE READBACK WAS CORRECT. AS THE AIRCRAFT WAS WAITING TO CROSS THE RUNWAY, THEY TAXIED ACROSS THE HOLD SHORT LINE ON TAXIWAY YANKEE. THIS REQUIRED LOCAL CONTROL TO ISSUE ASQ2796, E145, A GO AROUND CLEARANCE. ENY818 WAS THEN CLEARED TO MAKE A 180 DEGREE TURN AND TAXI CLEAR OF THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
