## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 09/03/2016 PILOT WAS LANDING ON A PRIVATE SOD RUNWAY. DURING THE LANDING A GUST OF WIND CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO FLOAT DOWN THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO RECOVER BEFORE THE END OF THE RUNWAY BY GROUND LOOPING THE AIRCRAFT BEFORE DEPARTING THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT WENT TO THE LEFT AND STRUCK A HIGH TENSILE WIRE TYPE FENCE AND FENCE POST BEFORE COMING TO A STOP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA507](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA507), Sep 3, 2016: Stropki Paul Outback (N56P), Dalton, OH, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during landing in gusting wind conditions, which resulted in a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
