## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE MISHAP AIRCRAFT WAS CONDUCTING A WHEEL LANDING ON RUNWAY 26 AT THE DODGE COUNTY AIRPORT. THE WEATHER WAS VFR, AND WINDS WERE REPORTED AS 280 AT 9, GUSTING TO 15. AT TOUCHDOWN THE RUBBER COVER ON THE RIGHT RUDDER PEDAL CAME LOOSE, AND THE PILOTS RIGHT FOOT CAME OFF THE PEDAL. THIS RESULTED IN A LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL, MANIFESTED BY A SIGNIFICANT LEFT YAW. BY THE TIME THE MISHAP PILOT GOT HIS RIGHT FOOT BACK ON THE PEDAL AND ATTEMPTED TO REESTABLISH DIRECTIONAL CONTROL THE SITUATION HAD DEVELOPED TO THE POINT WHERE THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE GROUND IN THAT AREA WAS QUITE SOFT, DUE TO RECENT RAINFALL, AND THE MAIN LANDING GEAR DUG IN, THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR ULTIMATELY FAILING DUE TO SIDE LOADING. DURING THE OFF RUNWAY EXCURSION, THE LEADING EDGE OF THE LEFT WING MADE CONTACT WITH THE GROUND RESULTING IN SUBSTANTAL DAMAGE.
