## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2016 AT 1945 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME, A BOMBARDIER CHALLENGER 300 AIRCRAFT, N521FX, REGISTERED TO FLEX JET LLC AND OPERATED BY AN AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT, RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE WHEN IT LOST HYDRAULIC FLUID DUE TO THE LH PRESSURE MANIFOLD CASE LEAKING. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS AND GUSTY WINDS PREVAILED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE BUSINESS FLIGHT WAS BEING CONDUCTED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF TITLE 14 CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS (CFR) PART 91 WITH A FLIGHT PLAN. THE PILOT AND FIRST OFFICER WERE UNINJURED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED FROM SAINT LOUIS (KSTL) ENROUTE TO MUSKEGON (KMKG) AND DIVERTED TO GRAND RAPIDS (KGRR).

ACCORDING TO THE CAPTAIN WHILE THE AIRCRAFT WAS CONFIGURING FOR LANDING THEY NOTICED A LEFT HYDRAULIC FAILURE LIGHT. THE CREW DECIDED TO DIVERT TO GRR DUE TO RUNWAY LENGTH. THE HYDRAULIC FAILURE RESULTED IN THE LOSS OF THE NORMAL GEAR EXTENSION, NOSE WHEEL STEERING AND NORMAL BRAKING. ON APPROACH THE CREW FOLLOWED THE CHECKLIST AND USED THE EMERGENCY GEAR EXTENSION PROCEDURE. ON LANDING, BOTH RIGHT MAIN TIRES AND THE LEFT INBOARD TIRE WERE BLOWN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
