## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 09/21/2016, THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE SANTA PAULA AIRPORT, SANTA PAULA, CA, RUNWAY 22, ON AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT. AFTER DEPARTURE, AND CLIMBING TO 150 FEET, THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER. AN EMERGENCY LANDING WAS MADE ON A DIRT ROAD IN THE RIVERBED THAT PARALLELS THE AIRPORT. THE LANDING WAS MADE UNDER PARTIAL POWER. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP, AND BOTH PILOTS EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INJURY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
