## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT AND HIS PASSENGER DEPARTED A34 ON A FLIGHT TO MEV. UPON ARRIVAL, THE PILOTS PERFORMED A TOUCH AND GO LANDING. DURING A SECOND LANDING, THE PILOT WAS LEFT OF THE RUNWAY CENTER LINE SO HE ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT TO THE RIGHT. THE PILOT OVERCORRECTED TO THE RIGHT OF THE CENTERLINE, THEN SWERVED BACK LEFT AGAIN CROSSING THE RUNWAY CENTERLINE. THESE CORRECTIVE OSCILLATIONS CONTINUED AND INTENSIFIED UNTIL THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR (WHEEL AND STRUT) FAILED AND THE RIGHT WING DROPPED TO THE TAXIWAY CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA513](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA513), Sep 25, 2016: BRM Aero Bristell S (N180BL), Minden, NV, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's over correction during the landing roll, which resulted in a loss of directional control, runway excursion, a landing gear collapse, and substantial damage to the right wing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
