## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 09/26/2016 AT APPROXIMATELY 2000 AND APPROXIMATELY 8 MILES EAST OF FRONT RANGE AIRPORT (KFTG) AT 7200? MSL, N317AM STRUCK ONE OR MORE BIRDS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TRAVELING AT 90 KNTS HEADED NW TO JOIN THE FINAL APPROACH FOR RUNWAY 26. CONDITIONS AT THE TIME WERE VMC. ONE BIRD ENTERED THE LEFT HAND WINDSCREEN AND STRUCK THE PIC. NO INJURIES REPORTED. CHECK PILOT IN RH SEAT TOOK CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND LANDED ON RUNWAY 26 WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. UPON INSPECTION AFTER LANDING, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE LEFT HAND WINDSCREEN HAD A HOLE WHERE THE BIRD HAD ENTERED THE AIRCRAFT. THE FOLLOWING AREAS HAD EVIDENCE OF SNARGE, THE UPPER ENGINE COWLING, ONE OF THE MAIN ROTOR BLADES, THE TAIL FAN AREA NEAR THE FENESTRON STATOR BLADES AND THE RIGHT HAND LOWER NOSE HAD EVIDENCE ON AN IMPACT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
