## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS ANCHORED TO THE GROUND AND SATISFACTORILY COMPLETED A FULL POWER TRIAL. THE AIRCRAFT MAINTAINED MAXIMUM POWER WITH NO ISSUES NOTICED. THE AIRCRAFT THEN MADE EIGHT SUCCESSIVE HIGH SPEED PASSES DOWN THE RUNWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO THE HANGAR AND WAS INSPECTED ONCE MORE PRIOR TO INITIATING THE FIRST FLIGHT.

THERE WERE SOME MINOR OIL LEAKS NOTED THAT WERE REPAIRED AND FUEL WAS ADDED TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT TOOK OFF ON RUNWAY 180. SHORTLY AFTER ROTATION THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A NOTABLE LOSS OF POWER. THE AIRCRAFT COULD NOT MAINTAIN ALTITUDE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS FORCED TO LAND IN A PLANT NURSERY APPROXIMATELY ONE MILE SOUTH OF THE AIRPORT. DURING THE LANDING THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A POLE THAT CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO RAPIDLY ROTATE COUNTER CLOCKWISE. THE MOTION DROVE THE RIGHT MAIN WINGS INTO THE GROUND BREAKING THE SPAR IN ALL THREE RIGHT MAIN WINGS.

THE FUEL SYSTEM OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS INSPECTED. ALL SCREENS AND FILTERS WERE INSPECTED. ONLY MINOR AMOUNTS OF DEBRIS WERE NOTED. THE SCREEN ASSEMBLY IN THE ENGINE DRIVEN FUEL PUMP WAS FOUND TO BE IMPROPERLY INSTALLED AND HAD FALLEN BELOW THE INTERNAL SEAT OF THE PUMP ASSEMBLY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN17LA011](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN17LA011), Oct 3, 2016: Fokker DR-1 (N83WR), Fulshear, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: A partial loss of engine power due to the improper assembly of the mechanical fuel pump.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
