## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 5, 2016, AT APPROXIMATELY 08:30 CDT, N3418N, A PIPER J3 CUB AIRCRAFT, REGISTERED TO ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, WAS FOUND TO HAVE MINOR DAMAGE AFTER CIVIL AIR PATROL LOCATED THE AIRCRAFT SEARCHING FOR AN ACTIVE EMERGENCY LOCATOR BEACON. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT WAS LOCATED, IT WAS TIED DOWN IN ITS NORMAL LOCATION AT AN AGRICULTURAL AIRSTRIP LOCATED SOUTH OF LEPANTO, AR. WHEN THE OWNER WAS CONTACTED, HE STATED THAT HE HAD NOT FLOWN THE AIRCRAFT NOR HAD HE AUTHORIZED ANYONE TO FLY THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
