COMMENTS:

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA024](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA024), Oct 16, 2016: Cessna 182 (N5446N), Leesburg, VA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper landing flare, which resulted in a hard landing and subsequent runway excursion.

## Other reports on N5446N (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19920815031389A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19920815031389A), Aug 15, 1992: Cessna 182R (N5446N), Litchfield, MI, Substantial damage. Tookoff with wing over tall corn on runway edge. Began hitting corn. Continued. Lost control. Nosed over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
