## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING A FLIGHT REVIEW CHECK RIDE, THE LIGHT SPORT, WEIGHT SHIFT CONTROL AIRCRAFT WENT TO FULL THROTTLE ON START UP. THE AIRCRAFT ACCELERATED TOWARDS A NEARBY AIRCRAFT SO THE PILOT MADE A SHARP TURN WITH A SUBSEQUENT ROLL OVER OF THE AIRCRAFT.

POST CRASH INVESTIGATION REVEALED THE FRONT PILOTS RIGHT FOOT THROTTLE LEVER WAS OPERATING CORRECTLY.

NOTE: THE SINGLE BRAKE PEAL FOR THIS AIRCRAFT IS LOCATED AT THE FRONT PILOTS LEFT FOOT POSITION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA039](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA039), Oct 20, 2016: Evolution Revo (N31PH), Carson City, NV, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot receiving instruction's inadvertent application of throttle during the engine start, which led to an inadvertent acceleration and a roll-over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
