## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT GROUND LOOPED THE AIRPLANE DURING LANDING(PHASE OF FLIGHT). PILOT STATED THAT WHEN HE WAS IN ROLLOUT AND DECCELERATING A GUST OF WIND FROM LEFT TO RIGHT PUSHED THE AIRPLANE TAIL TO THE RIGHT (PILOT ESTIMATED A 12 TO 19 KNOT WIND GUST). THE AIRPLANE VEERED TO THE LEFT, THE RIGHT WHEEL WENT INTO THE DITCH AREA (LEFT SIDE OF RUNWAY 17). AIRPLANE GOT STUCK IN GROUND INDENTATION AND STRUCK RIGHT WING TIP ON THE GROUND CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO RIGHT WING. RIGHT LANDING GEAR LEAF SPRING WAS BENT. RIGHT HORIZONTAL STABILIZER WAS DAMAGED. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED, NO POST CRASH FIRE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA050](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA050), Oct 21, 2016: Cessna 305 (N5075S), Llano, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll in cross wind conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
