As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE MANEUVERING AT LOW LEVEL THE HELICOPTER EXPERIENCED A REDUCTION OF ROTOR RPM. AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND REMAINING UPRIGHT WITH SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE FUESELAGE AND MAIN ROTOR SYSTEM. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, NO POST-CRASH FIRE, AND NO FUEL SPILL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN17LA099](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN17LA099), Oct 28, 2016: Robinson R22 Beta (N522KC), Asherton, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The partial loss of engine power due to the failure of the magneto's internal timing during low-altitude maneuvering.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
