## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NOSE GEAR PIVOT WAS CRACKED AROUND THE WELDED RADIUS OF THE STRUT. IT DROPPED FROM THE AIRCRAFT UPON LANDING. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE DID NOT NOTICE THAT THE NOSE TIRE ASSEMBLY WAS MISSING UNTIL HE TURNED LEFT ON TO THE TAXIWAY AND THEN THE NOSE STRUT AND PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND. THEN, THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED WHEN THE FRONT GEAR STRUT MOUNT BOLT SHEARED AND THE GEAR NOSE GEAR STRUT FOLDED UNDER THE FUSELAGE. THE PILOT'S E-MAIL STATEMENT IS AS FOLLOWS:

ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2016 AROUND 11AM I WAS LANDING AT KAHN. WHEN I LANDED, AND THE NOSE GEAR CAME DOWN IT SOUNDED AND FELT VERY WRONG, WITH A LOT OF VIBRATION. I ADDED SOME POWER AND BACK PRESSURE TO KEEP WEIGHT OFF WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A FLAT TIRE. I EXITED THE RUNWAY AT THE FIRST TAXIWAY, AND AS I SLOWED THE NOSE CAME ALL THE WAY DOWN, AND THE STRUT COLLAPSED.

IF YOU NEED ANY FURTHER ACCOUNTS, OR ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

THANKS,

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
