## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT REPORTED THAT AS HE LANDED ON RNY 01 HE INITIALLY INTENDED TO MAKE A FULL STOP LANDING BUT DECIDED TO DO A TOUCH AND GO INSTEAD. THEN HE DECIDED THAT INSTEAD OF MAKING A STANDARD OR NORMAL 3 POINT TAKE-OFF HE WOULD MAKE A 2 POINT TAKE-OFF INSTEAD. AT ABOUT 50 KTS HE BROUGHT THE TAIL UP WHEN THE AIRCRAFT MADE A SHARP LEFT TURN A FEW FEET OFF THE RUNWAY WHEN HE RETARDED THE THROTTLE. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST AFTER IMPACTING THE GROUND ABOUT 50 YARDS FROM THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA073](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA073), Nov 10, 2016: Carter Richard L Buddy Baby Lakes (N1028Q), Hurricane, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during takeoff, which resulted in a runway excursion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
