## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT LANDED RUNWAY 21 AND AIRCRAFT VEERED RIGHT GOING INTO AN AREA CALLED THE RUNWAY SAFETY AREA (RSA). THE PILOT HAD BOTH ENGINES IN BETA WHEN THE AIRCRAFT WENT INTO THE RSA NEAR A11 HIGH SPEED RUNWAY EXIT. THE AIRCRAFT SUNK INTO THE RSA MATERIAL OF 3-4? DIAMETER ROCKS WHICH WERE THROWN INTO THE AIRCRAFT FUSELAGE. THE RSA MATERIAL SEVERLY DAMAGED BOTH PROPELLERS, PUNCHED HOLES THROUGH THE FUSELAGE, AND THREW ROCKS THROUGH THE CABIN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR17LA030](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR17LA030), Dec 1, 2016: Aero Commander 690 (N9175N), Scottsdale, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s loss of directional control during the landing roll, which resulted in the runway excursion onto the rock-covered runway safety area.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
