## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

CFI AND STUDENT WERE INBOUND TO HQM AND STUDENT NOTED OSCILLATION IN CONTROL YOKE. NO NOTICABLE DEFECTS WERE FOUND AFTER LANDING. ON DEPARTURE THE OSCILLATION RETURNED AND THE TWO OCCUPANTS OF THE AIRCRAFT OBSERVED THE RIGHT ELEVATOR FLUTTERING 12 INCHES PEAK TO PEAK. CFI FLEW AIRCRAFT BACK TO HQM. POST FLIGHT INSPECTION REVEALED THE ELEVATOR HAD SEPARATED FROM THE HORIZONTAL STAB AT THE RIGHT OUTBOARD HINGE POINT. FURTHER INSPECTION REVEALED THE BOLT SECURING THE ELEVATOR TO THE HINGE POINT HAD BACKED COMPLETELY OUT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
