## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

OBTAINED FROM EMAIL VIA PILOT: ON DEC. 6 AN INCIDENT TOOK PLACE NEAR KDTN INVOLVING ME. AS I APPROACHED ZOROD ON THE RNAV 14 INTO KDTN. MY AUTOPILOT WAS ENGAGED AND ATTEMPTED TO TURN ME TO THE LEFT. I NEEDED TO TURN RIGHT FOR THE PARALLEL INTO THE PROCEDURE TURN. I NOTICED THE LEFT TURN ON MY ASPEN PFD AT WHICH POINT I STARTED A TURN TO RIGHT. AT THIS TIME MY PFD READ IN RED LETTERS ACROSS CROSSCHECK ATTITUDE AT WHICH POINT I REALIZED THE AUTOPILOT WAS PULLING TO THE LEFT SO I DISENGAGED AUTOPILOT LOOKED AT MY BACKUP GAUGE AND LOOKED BACK AT PFD AND HEARD ENGINE INCREASING IN RPM. I PULLED UP ONLY TO HEAR IT GET WORSE. THIS IS WHEN I REALIZED I WAS IN A NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE. I ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT THE ATTITUDE A COUPLE TIMES UNTIL I REGAINED CONTROL. AT THIS TIME I REALIZED MY DASH WAS BLACK. I REACHED OVER AND CYCLED MY POWER SWITCH AT WHICH TIME ATC WAS CALLING ME. THEY WERE ABLE TO ASSIST ME INTO KSHV FOR A LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
