DURING THE DOWNWIND, THE ACCIDENT PILOT REQUESTED TO CHANGE TO RUNWAY 25 FOR LANDING. DURING THE AIRCRAFT'S RIGHT TURN FOR THE DOWNWIND TO RUNWAY 25, ACCIDENT PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT, AND IMPACTED A PARKING STRUCTURE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR17FA033](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR17FA033), Dec 6, 2016: Airborne Windsports PTY Edge XT-912-L (N188M), Santa Barbara, CA, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain aircraft control while maneuvering in the traffic pattern.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
