## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE LANDING IN WEATHER BELOW VFR MINIMUMS, PILOTS ACTION RESULTED IN A HARD LANDING POSSIBLE NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE. NOSE GEAR BROKE OFF AND COLLAPSED, AIRCRAFT CONTINUED DOWN RUNWAY AND CAME TO REST JUST OFF THE RUNWAY. AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL IMPACT DAMAGE LIMITED TO THE NOSE, NOSE LANDING GEAR AND BOTH ENGINE PROPELLERS.

PILOT IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR REMEDIAL TRAINING (RT) BECAUSE HE NEVER ADMITTED TO BE AT FAULT FOR THE HARD LANDING AND HIS DECISION MAKING SKILLS ARE IN QUESTION. THEREFORE, A REEXAMINATION (44709) OF HIS PILOTING SKILLS WILL NOW BE REQUIRED.

REEXAMINATION (44709) NUMBER - RCE0320170004

## Other reports on N3164W (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19831211072089I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19831211072089I), Dec 11, 1983: Beech 9555 (N3164W), Meridian, MS, Minor damage. Unsafe gear indication on retraction after takeoff. Landed with nose gear up. End rod failed on gear retraction.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
