## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS A SOLO STUDENT PILOT. HE HAD A STABLE APPROACH UNTIL ROUND OUT IN THE FLARE. DURING THE FLARE THE STUDENT PILOT DRIFTED TO THE RIGHT OF CENTER LINE AND STAYED ON THE RIGHT SIDE UNTIL TOUCHDOWN. AFTER TOUCHDOWN THE STUDENT PILOT ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT FOR BEING RIGHT OF CENTERLINE BY APPLYING LEFT RUDDER, BUT DID SO WITH TOO MUCH LEFT RUDDER CAUSING THE PLANE TO VEER LEFT ACROSS THE RUNWAY AND ONTO THE GRASS. UPON ENTERING THE GRASS THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND. THE STUDENT PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH ATC TELLING THEM HE HAD WENT ONTO THE GRASS, AND THEN CORRECTED TO GET BACK ON THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO A STOP.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
