## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT ABOUT 2 2/1 HOURS INTO A FLIGHT FROM IAD TO FCM, THE PILOTS NOTED THAT THE AIRCRAFT HAD DEVELOPED A MINOR BUFFET WHILE DESCENDING FROM FL280 TO 16,000 FT. ENGINE PARAMETERS WERE REPORTED AS NORMAL AND FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS OF AIRCRAFT WERE NORMAL. APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES LATER, A LOUD BANG WAS HEARD AND THE BUFFET STOPPED. PILOT REPORTED THAT WITH THE USE OF A FLASHLIGHT, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE LEFT WING LOCKER ASSEMBLY HAD DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT. AFTER DISCUSSION WITH THE PASSENGERS, IT WAS DECIDED TO CONTINUE ON TO INTENDED DESTINATION, SINCE FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS OF THE AIRCRAFT APPEARED TO BE UNAFFECTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
