## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS CLEARED FOR A STRAIGHT IN APPROACH TO RUNWAY 22 AT PGD. ON FIRST APPROACH THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO SINK RAPIDLY AND THE RIGHT WING WENT DOWN, SO THE PILOT ADDED POWER AND WENT AROUND. ON THE SECOND APPROACH THE SAME THING HAPPENED BUT THE PILOT WAS NOT ABLE TO GET THE RIGHT WING UP AND ADDING POWER DID NOT HELP. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK TREES AND SETTLED INTO THE HEAVY BRUSH ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF RUNWAY 22 IN A NORTHERLY HEADING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA136](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA136), Feb 11, 2017: Nielsen Martin M Challenger II (N289MN), Punta Gorda, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
