## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE HOT AIR BALLOON ATTEMPTED TO LAND IN A FIELD ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF AN APARTMENT COMPLEX. DURING FINAL DESCENT, A SUDDEN WIND SHIFT OCCURRED. THE PILOT RESPONDED BY INCREASING HIS RATE OF DESCENT TO LAND AND AVOID FURTHER DRIFTING. WHEN THE BALLOON BASKET TOUCHED DOWN, IT BOUNCED AND RETURNED TO THE AIR. THE WIND CONTINUED TO BLOW THE BASKET AND ENVELOPE TO THE NORTH, COMING TO A FINAL STOP ONTO AN IRON FENCE/RETENTION WALL WITH THE ENVELOPE DEFLATING AND DRAPING ON THE ROOF OF AN APARTMENT BUILDING.
