## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER LANDING AND SETTING THE TAIL WHEEL DOWN THE PILOT HAD NO FORWARD VIEW OF THE RUNWAY, SIDE REFERENCE ONLY. PILOT LOST EFFECTIVE CONTROL OF THE RUDDER, THE AIRCRAFT STARTED RIGHT AND PILOT CORRECTED WITH LEFT BRAKE. THE AIRCRAFT STARTED LEFT AND THE PILOT WAS NOT QUICK ENOUGH TO CORRECT THE LEFT TURN AND THE AIRCRAFT GROUND-LOOPED MAKING CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY MARKER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA176](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA176), Feb 22, 2017: Stump Great Lakes 2T 1A (N305Y), Monongahela, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during the landing roll with crosswind conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
