## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS FLYING FROM LEADERS/CLEAR LAKE AIRPORT, MN TO PAYNESVILLE AIRPORT, MN FOR PRACTICE APPROACHES. DURING THE CLIMB OUT AFTER A TOUCH AND GO/BALKED LANDING, PILOT NOTICED THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE WAS INCREASING. PILOT STARTED A TURN TOWARD THE AIRPORT. SHORTLY FOLLOWING, THE ENGINE LOST POWER. PILOT REALIZED HE WOULD NOT MAKE THE RUNWAY SO HE SELECTED A SUITABLE SPOT IN A FIELD. HE ATTEMPTED TO LAND IT QUICKLY SINCE HE SAW SOME TREES APPROACHING. PILOT EGRESSED THE AIRCRAFT WITH MINOR INJURIES.
