## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED THAT HE WAS FLYING INTO TRENTON-ROBBINSVILLE AIRPORT TO PICK UP HIS FRIEND WHO WAS DROPPING OFF AN AIRCRAFT FOR AN ANNUAL INSPECTION AT AIRMODS. AS HE WAS LANDING, HE STATED HE HAD ABOUT 20 TO 25 KNOT HEADWINDS AND ALL APPEARED NORMAL. HE TOUCHED DOWN AND FELT THE AIRCRAFT VEER LEFT. HE STATED HE SAW SMOKE COMING FROM THE REAR TIRE. HE APPLIED FULL RIGHT RUDDER AND APPLIED FULL POWER. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ SAID THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT RESPOND IMMEDIATELY SO HE BROUGHT THE POWER BACK. AS HE DID, THATS WHEN HE REALIZED HE WAS HEADING INTO THE TREES

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA182](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA182), Mar 9, 2017: Pedersen Bjarne Martin Sportsman GS-2 (N237PM), Robbinsville, NJ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll in gusting wind conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
