## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED ON THE AIRCRAFT PRIOR TO THE FLIGHT. THE MECHANIC WAS CALLED AWAY FROM THE TASK BEFORE IT WAS COMPLETED. A SCREW DRIVER WAS LEFT ON THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT UNDER THE WIPER AND OUT OF SITE OF THE PILOT. ON TAKEOFF THE SCREW DRIVER WENT INTO THE LEFT PROPELLER AND TWO PIECES OF THE PROPELLER FLEW INTO THE CABIN. THE PILOT CAME BACK AROUND AND LANDED. CALLED TOWER TO REPORT PROBLEM AND TOLD TOWER TO CHECK FOR FOD. PILOT RETURNED TO RAMP. SCREW DRIVER WAS LOCATED ON THE RUNWAY.
