## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON LANDING AT THE BOZEMAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN BOZEMAN MONTANA N268CR VEERED TO THE LEFT AND GROUND LOOPED. ON INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED. THERE WERE NO SKID MARKS ON THE TIRES, AND IT APPEARED AS IF THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR HAD FAILED. AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE PILOT THIS IS THE SECOND TIME HE HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE GEAR. THE FIRST TIME HE CAUGHT IT BEFORE IT FAILED ALL THE WAY. IT APPEARS THAT THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT IS THE GEAR IS UNABLE TO HOLD UP TO NORMAL LANDINGS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR17LA080](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR17LA080), Mar 22, 2017: Maxcy Christopher L Stol King (N268CR), Bozeman, MT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
