## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED FORT MORGAN CO (KFMM) AIRPORT FOR GRANBY CO (KGNB). PILOT?S FIRST APPROACH INTO KGNB WAS ABORTED FOR EXCESSIVE LANDING SPEED AND PROJECTED TOUCHDOWN POINT TOO FAR DOWN RUNWAY. PILOT INITIATED GO AROUND DUE TO ABOVE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS BY ADDING ADDITIONAL POWER WITH GEAR RETRACTION. LOCAL TRAFFIC PATTERN WAS USED DURING GO AROUND AND PILOT EXPERIENCED SOME LIGHT TURBULENCE. SECOND LANDING FAILED WHEN PILOT FAILED TO EXTEND LANDING GEAR AND AIRCRAFT IMPACTED RUNWAY SKIDDING ON BELLY OF AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED, DUE TO PRESSURIZED BULKHEAD DAMAGE. BOTH THE PILOT AND PASSENGER EXITED THE AIRCRAFT UNDER THEIR OWN POWER AND DECLINED MEDICAL ATTENTION. BOTH THE PILOT AND PASSENGER SUFFERED NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA221](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA221), Apr 6, 2017: Cessna P210 (N829BA), Granby, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to extend the landing gear before landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
