## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

MISHAP PILOT HAD A PHYSIOLOGICAL NEED TO MICTURATE WHILE ENROUTE TO HIS REMOTE CABIN.

PILOT FOUND A GOOD SITE AND UPON LANDING IN SOFT, SPRINGTIME SNOW, HIT A BURIED/HIDDEN SAND BURM WHICH CAUGHT HIS LEFT SKI CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO "DIG IN AND FLIP."

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA228](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA228), Apr 12, 2017: Bellanca 8GCBC (N5045E), Willow, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The airplane's left main ski's collision with a submerged frozen sand berm.

## Other reports on N5045E (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19860611059169I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19860611059169I), Jun 11, 1986: Bbavia 8GCBC (N5045E), Pensacola, FL. ATC gave right downwind instead of left for pipeline aircraft. Pilot crossed runway at 100 feet with DC9 on final.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
