## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON LANDING ROLLOUT A SUDDEN GUST OF WIND PUSHED THE AIRCRAFT TO THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, THE AIRCRAFT EXITED THE PAVEMENT INTO THE GRASS/DIRT THEN GROUND LOOPED CAUSING THE RIGHT WING TIP TO CONTACT THE GROUND. SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE WING, SLIGHT DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT HORIZONTAL STABILIZER. PILOT WAS ONLY ONE ON BOARD, NO INJURIES. NO PROP STRIKE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA231](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA231), Apr 12, 2017: Cessna 180 (N2144Z), Kenai, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll with crosswind conditions.

## Other reports on N2144Z (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19750923031759A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19750923031759A), Sep 23, 1975: Cessna 180F (N2144Z), Nondalton, AK, Substantial damage. Carb iced up due carb heat ctl cable slipping in locking slot. Lnd in tundra.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
