## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN ON PRIVATE RUNWAY AND BOUNCED. AIRMAN CHOSE TO GO AROUND AND HAD INSUFFICIENT ALTITUDE TO AVOID HILL AT END OF RUNWAY AND CHERRY TREES BESIDE THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY. BECAUSE OF THE WIND COMING OVER THE HILL FROM THE EAST, THERE WAS TOO MUCH DOWNDRAFT AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT ABLE TO OUT CLIMB THE OBSTACLES. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK CHERRY TREES AND CAME TO REST VERICALLY IN A CHERRY TREE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA240](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA240), Apr 21, 2017: Parlette Robert L Glastar (N661RP), Wenatchee, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper landing flare and subsequent failure to adequately compensate for gusting wind conditions during a go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
