## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AERIAL APPLICATION INSTRUCTION TAKING PLACE. WITNESS STATED AIRPLANE CIRCLED THE INTENDED FIELD THEN COMMENCED A PRACTICE SPRAY RUN FROM SOUTH TO NORTH ALONG THE EDGE OF THE FIELD.

WHEN THE AIRPLANE GOT TO THE END OF THE RUN, THE AIRPLANE PITCHED UP INTO THE TOP THREE POWERLINES. TWO OF THE POWERLINES STRETCHED AND BROKE, BUT THE THIRD POWERLINE SNAGGED ON THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR AND DRUG THE AIRPLANE TO THE GROUND.

IT COULD NOT BE DETERMINED WHICH PILOT WAS CONTROLLING THE AIRPLANE WHEN THIS EVENT OCCURRED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN17FA169](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN17FA169), Apr 30, 2017: Champion 7KCAB (N1899G), Collinston, LA, destroyed, 2 fatal. Probable cause: The failure of the flight instructor and the commercial pilot to maintain adequate clearance from a power line during an aerial application training flight.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
