## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED A DUST DEVIL WHILE ON SHORT FINAL TO FLARE ON APPROACH FOR LANDING. CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS LOST DURING THE WIND SHIFT. THE AIRCRAFT COLLIDED WITH THE TERRAIN CAUSING SUBSTANCIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTOR, THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED TURBULENCE THAT CAUSED THE BODY OF THE AIRCRAFT TO VIBRATE AND SWAY SIDE TO SIDE WITHOUT WING MOVEMENT. THE INSTRUCTOR STATED HE WAS ON THE CONTROLS WITH THE STUDENT AND NO ABNORMAL CONTROL INPUTS WERE MADE.
