## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS TURNING AT FINAL AND OVERFLEW THE RUNWAY. HE TRIED TO CORRECT IT BUT LANDED DIAGONALLY ON THE RUNWAY AND WAS NOT ABLE TO STRAIGHTEN THE AIRCRAFT OUT WHICH CAUSED HIM TO EXIT THE RUNWAY AND IMPACT SOME TREES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA274](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA274), May 10, 2017: Cessna 177 (N34207), Frankston, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s loss of runway visibility during landing in rain, which resulted in the pilot’s loss of situational awareness and subsequent loss of airplane control.

## Other reports on N34207 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19850422019579I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19850422019579I), Apr 22, 1985: Cessna 177B (N34207), Flagstaff, AZ, Minor damage. Nose tire went flat on landing. Nose gear collapsed.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
