## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE LANDING IN A 5 KTS CROSSWIND, THE PILOT TOUCHED DOWN BUT FOUND THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIFTING OFF AGAIN TO A HEIGHT OF 25-50 FEET. PILOT ATTEMPTED A "GO-AROUND" BUT DRIFTED TO THE EAST, DESCENDED AND HIT A PERIMETER FENCE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA276](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA276), May 12, 2017: Cessna 172 (N9390E), Monument Valley, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper landing flare, which resulted in a bounced landing.

## Other reports on N9390E (2)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19800412038069I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19800412038069I), Apr 12, 1980: Cessna 172N (N9390E), Salt Lake City, UT, Minor damage. Pilot lost directional control while landing in crosswind. Damaged prop.
- [Incident 19790921051379I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19790921051379I), Sep 21, 1979: Cessna 172N (N9390E), Jackson Hole, WY, Minor damage. Stabilizer damaged, probably by a rock thrown up when aircraft went off the side of the runway in crosswind landing

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
