## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS LANDING ON RUNWAY 34 AT THE LEBANON STATE AIRPORT (S30) THE WINDS AT THE TIME OF LANDING WERE REPORTED FROM THE PILOT AS FROM 270 DEGREES 10-15 KNOTS. AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN AT APPROXIMATELY 220 FEET FROM THE THRESHHOLD AT 60 MPH. AT APPROXIMATELY 420 FEET THE AIRCRAFT WAS SLOWING AND WAS TRYING TO WEATHER VANE AND BEING PUSHED TO THE LEFT. PILOT CHOOSE TO GIVE AIRCRAFT FULL THROTTLE AND START PROCEDURES FOR A GO AROUND. AFTER AIRCRAFT LIFTED OFF THE GROUND THE WIND WAS RAPIDLY PUSHING THE AIRCRAFT TO THE LEFT. PILOT DECIDED HE COULD NOT CLIMB FAST ENOUGH TO CLEAR THE HANGERS TO THE LEFT WHICH ARE LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 240 FEET TO THE LEFT OF THE CENTERLINE OF RUNWAY. THE PILOT REDUCED POWER AND LANDED THE AIRCAFT AGAIN STILL BEING PUSHED TO THE EAST AND OFF THE RUNWAY. AIRCRAFT WENT INTO THE GRASS MERIDIAN BETWEEN THE RUNWAY AND TAXIWAY. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA288](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA288), May 15, 2017: Aeronca 7AC (N3046E), Lebanon, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll in gusting wind conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
