THE SD CONTROLLER INSTRUCTED 62UP TO TURN AN ADDITIONAL 10 DEGREES LEFT. N62UP WAS NOT INSTRUCTED TO JOIN THE LOCALIZER AND WAS CLEARED FOR THE ILS APPROACH AFTER THE AIRCRAFT HAD FLOWN THROUGH THE LOCALIZER AND WAS INSIDE THE APPROACH GATE 2 MILES FROM THE OUTER MARKER. THE PILOT OF N62UP CORRECTED BACK ONTO COURSE AT APPROXIMATELY 1/2 MILE PRIOR TO THE OUTER MARKER. AFTER THE PILOT CALLED PASSING HADEN OUTER MARKER HE REMAINED ABOVE THE GLIDE SLOPE THE ENTIRE APPROACH CHANGING ALTITUDE SEVERAL TIMES WITH THE HIGHEST BEING 2600 FEET AT 1.7 MILES TO 2100 FEET AT 1.4 MILES FROM THE MISSED APPROACH POINT. THE PILOT DECLARED A MISSED APPROACH WITH ILG TOWER AT THIS POINT. IT WAS IN THIS LOCATION THAT THE RADAR AND COMMUNICATION WAS LOST WITH N62UP.
