## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED ANOKA COUNTY-BLAINE AIRPORT (KANE) FOR A PERSONAL FLIGHT WITH PILOT AS SOLE OCCUPANT. ON DEPARTURE LANDING GEAR WOULD NOT FULLY RETRACT. PILOT RAN APPROPRIATE CHECKLIST AND GEAR WOULD NOT EXTEND FULLY EITHER. AIRCRAFT FLEW FOR 3 HRS BURNING FUEL. AIRCRAFT LANDED ON GRASS WITH NOSE GEAR DOWN AND MAIN STILL IN TRANSIT. HORIZONTAL STABILIZER DAMAGED WHEN AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN17LA212](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN17LA212), Jun 3, 2017: Cessna 210F (N1854F), Anoka, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the landing gear to fully extend due to insufficient hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic system as a result of inadequate maintenance by the airplane owner.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
