## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE STUDENT PILOT WAS CONDUCTING A SOLO FLIGHT IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN TO PRACTICE LANDINGS ON RUNWAY 20. DURING THE FIRST LANDING OF THE FLIGHT, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, HITTING THREE TAXIWAY LIGHTS AND COMING TO A STOP IN THE GRASSY AREA ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE PARALLEL TAXIWAY. THE STUDENT PILOT REPORTED NO INJURIES AND THE AIRCRAFT HAD MINOR DAMAGE ON THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR STRUT.

THE STUDENT PILOT REPORTED WINDS 080 AT 4 KNOTS AT THE TIME OF THE LANDING. NOAA DATA INDICATED THE WINDS WERE 050 AT 6 MILES PER HOUR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE LANDING, WHICH FAVORS THE USE OF RUNWAY 02 AT THIS AIRPORT. NOAA DATA INDICATED THE WINDS WERE VARIABLE AT 5 MILES PER HOUR APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES AFTER THE LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
