## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 6/17/2017, N872WT, AN SR-20 AIRCRAFT WAS LANDING ON RUNWAY 16R AT KVNY.

UPON A NORMAL TOUCHDOWN, THE NOSE WHEEL STARTED TO SHAKE, AND THE NOSE WHEEL BROKE OFF, AND THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND.

THE INSTRUCTOR AND A STUDENT PILOT EVACUATED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INJURY.

THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE NOSE WHEEL TUBE LINKAGE HAD INTERNAL CORROSION, AND SNAPPED AND DEPARTED THE MOUNTING BRACKET FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THIS RESULTED IN THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT COLLAPSING AND THE PROPELLER STRIKING THE RUNWAY SURFACE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
