## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING OPERATED FOR TRAINING. THE GEAR WAS SELECTED TO THE DOWN POSITION, NOSE GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATION LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE. THE GEAR WAS CYCLED UP AND DOWN ONCE MORE WITH THE SAME RESULT. THE PILOT PERFORMED AN EMERGENCY GEAR EXTENSION PROCEDURE. THE NOSE GEAR WAS STILL INDICATING NOT DOWN AND LOCKED. THE PILOT REQUESTED TO LAND ON THE GRASS NEXT TO THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT ON THE TWO MAINS AND HELD THE NOSE UP AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. THE AIRCRAFT'S NOSE THEN TOUCHED DOWN WITH THE ENGINE CUT OFF AND THE NOSE GEAR UP. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER AND MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LOWER COWLING. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
