## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT N754SW, FLIGHT #1766 TAXIED TO RUNWAY 19, AND BEGAN THE TAKE-OFF ROLL DEPARTING FROM ALB TO MCO. WHILE DOING SO, PIC RECEIVED A RADIO CALL FROM ATC THAT SMOKE WAS OBSERVED COMING FROM THE TAIL SECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT BY GROUND HANDLING PERSONNEL. SPECIFICALLY, THE APU.

THE PILOT IN COMMAND IMMEDIATELY REJECTED THE TAKE-OFF ROLL NEAR THE INTERSECTING RUNWAYS, THEN PROCEEDED TO TAXI BACK TO GATE C-2, AT APPROXIMATELY 0729, WITHOUT ARFF SUPPORT.

PIC CONDUCTED AN EXTERNAL WALK AROUND INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT. AIRCRAFT DEPARTED GATE AT 0751, FOR MCO, WITHOUT APPROPRIATE MAINTENANCE ACTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
